This gaming flagship smartphone houses the best of the best in terms of internals for a high-end smartphone. As for the release of the gaming-character flagship, it’s absolutely coming to the United States. There is only one problem – Taiwanese manufacturer “Asus” is not yet ready to spill the beans of its pricing and availability.
The Asus ROG Phone is dedicated to delivering users a Portable Console level gaming experience with a mixer of connected peripherals and high-end hardware. Asus ROG Phone Release Date and Price
The Asus announced its greatest gaming smartphone Asus ROG Phone on June 4, 2018. And based on a recent report, it’ll start landing on shelves in India sooner than later. However, chances are Asus ROG Phone Release Date will be sometime in Q3. We’ll add more information as we hear more.
In terms of pricing, Asus didn’t say even a single word. The market has the biggest competitor of Asus ROG Phone named Razer Phone which goes for $925. It’s safe to expect that Asus ROG Phone Price will be slightly higher than that. It has been observed that Asus normally announces pricing details nearer to release.
Design and Display
The Asus ROG Phone is what a gaming smartphone should look like. The device is a portable ROG laptop, to be honest. The phone houses a gaming aesthetic design which you can’t resist – also, offering water and dust resistant body as well. The first and foremost thing you’d turn your head is a dual cooling vent as of its orange color. The Asus ROG has a logo which we’ve seen on its laptop. The phone also sports RGB illuminations which display different colors.
The ROG Phone comprises 2 USB charging ports and one 3.5mm headphone jack. The ultrasonic pressure body enables you to squeeze it to improve overall performance by automatically closing background apps.
Moving on its display, ROG Phone comes with a nice screen to display all of your gaming moments. The phone dishes out an 18:9 aspect ratio offering fewer bezels and more screen for gaming.
The ROG Phone brings AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels and 402 PPI for sharp visuals. The display comprises of 108.6% DCI wide color gamut as well as HDR screen.
Camera, Performance and OS
Gaming features aside, Asus ROG Phone also gives users an exquisite photography experience with its dual 12MP + 8MP rear shooters. The rear camera is being supported by LED flash and other features i.e. PDAF, Face Detection, Panorama and HDR. Users can also record 4K videos @30fps. The 8MP sensor, on the other hand, is sitting on a front for great selfie experience. And of course, it’s for video calls with your nearest and dearest.
As far as software feature to be seen, Asus ROG Phone runs on Android 8.1 Oreo Operating System. Will it be upgraded to Android P 9.0? It’s yet to be announced.
In terms of performance, Asus ROG Phone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 with an insane amount of RAM – 8GB. The overall performance is superb and users get an exquisite performance experience without getting any sign of lag.
Battery and Storage
Inside ROG Phone, there’s a massive 4000mAh non-removable battery for giving users enough freedom all day long even under most demanded conditions. Gamers won’t run out of battery entire day but charging would be required before going to bed. However, if you’re a moderate user, you’ll have more than 2 days of freedom.
So far, we’ve heard that Asus ROG Phone is ready to land in 2 different storage tiers – 128GB and 512GB to accommodate your files and other data. It would definitely be great if it turns out to be true. The Asus doesn’t allow ROG Phone users to increase its onboard memory further, though.
